Dubai Capitals complete Global Super League lineup


Cricket fans, get ready for another layer of excitement! The Global Super League (GSL), T20 cricket's ambitious international club competition, has officially rounded out its lineup for the 2025 season with the inclusion of none other than the Dubai Capitals. This isn't just another team slot filled; it's a statement, a testament to the growing global footprint of franchise cricket and the GSL's vision to be a true clash of champions.   

For those who've been following the recent T20 landscape, the Dubai Capitals are a familiar name, having just clinched their maiden International League T20 (ILT20) title. They're coming into the GSL hot, carrying the swagger of champions and a roster that knows how to deliver under pressure. This isn't a team making up the numbers; this is a serious contender, and their arrival makes the 2025 GSL roster truly mouth-watering.  

The GSL, an initiative spearheaded by Cricket West Indies and chaired by the legendary Sir Clive Lloyd, aims to bring together top-tier T20 franchises from various major cricketing nations. The inaugural season in 2024, held in Guyana, gave us a taste of this vision, with teams like the Guyana Amazon Warriors, Rangpur Riders, and others battling it out.  

Now, with the Dubai Capitals joining the likes of New Zealand's Central Stags, Australia's Hobart Hurricanes, and the home team Guyana Amazon Warriors and defending champions Rangpur Riders, the competition is set to intensify. Each of these teams represents the pinnacle of their respective domestic leagues, promising a clash of styles, strategies, and star power. Sir Clive Lloyd himself expressed his excitement, highlighting the Capitals' "reputation as ILT20 champions" and how their presence will "undoubtedly enhance the quality and spectacle of the cricket on offer."
